Egg Information

Below is a picture of four (4) eggs. These come from (left to right) Sun Conures, Cockatiels, and 2 different Budgerigars (Parakeets). There is a quarter above them so that you can see a comparison.

Sun Conures incubate their eggs for approximately 24 days. After the babies hatch, they should be banded around 7 days old. They will begin to fledge around 50 days old.

Cockatiels incubate their eggs for approximately 19 days. After the babies hatch, they should be banded around 9 days old. They will begin to fledge around 35 days old.

Budgerigars / Parakeets incubate their eggs for approximately 18 days. Banding and fledging are similar to Cockatiels. Some birds will lay smaller eggs than others will.
